GTechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer

Item Description:

Restore your trim's natural good looks!

3S nano composite coating for plastic trim

Restores trim to as new condition

Lasts for up to two years

Gtechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer is a semi-permanent coating that chemically bonds to your vehicle's trim! This unique trim treatment is so unique that it might be easier to discuss what Gtechniq C4 permanent Trim Restorer isn't. It is not an oil that darkens the trim and makes it shiny for a couple of weeks. It is not a streak-prone, greasy looking dye that fades as soon as quickly as it is exposed to sunlight.

Gtechniq restores your faded trim to a like new appearance by forming an ultra thin (30 nano-meters thick) protective coating. This thin coating forms a covalent bond with your trim to actually become an extension of the plastic molecule it is protecting. It is this ultra thin coating that restores the like new levels of darkness with out creating a greasy sheen. You can expect Gtechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer to last approximately 2 years from a single application.

Gtechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer has strong UV absorption filters which protect the trim under the protective coating from sun fade. This makes Gtechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer the ideal solution to stop fading and oxidation before it starts. Use Gtechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer on all but the most faded trim pieces such as plastic grills, wiper cowls, bumper trim, door handles, and rear view mirrors to restore their original appearance or keep them looking like new!

Gtechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer is easy-to-apply. Do not dilute Gtechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer and apply to surfaces that are above 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Clean the trim vigorously with isopropyl alcohol prior to application. Use a lint free applicator pad to wipe the coating onto the trim. Gtechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer will bond immediately so it is vitally important to remove excess coating from the treated surface and any that has gone onto paint or glass. Use a fresh microfiber and a light touch to remove excess product.

C4 trim restorer is the bomb!!!
The product worked great. There was just not enough of it. I will able to do 5 pieces of plastic trim that turned out awesome. I guess that's how they get you.
ProsTerrific results. Not oilly. Did not smell. Easy to use.
ConsSmall size. If you don't buff you will end up with white crust. SO WIPE THE PRODUCT DOWN AFTER 5 MINUTES LIKE IT SAYS.

So far, so good.
I own a 911, 997.2.
C4 for was applied to the wiper cowl, front air damn, front grilles, outer door sills and engine air intake.
You'll have just enough in the 15 ml bottle to cover these areas.

After the first application to the areas noted, I noticed the cowl didn't have the "blackness" as the other parts.
Rookie mistake on my part.
#1. It was the first area that I treated. There wasn't enough product absorbed into the applicator.
#2. The "stipple" surface of the cowl required an applicator with more nap. The second time around I used a microfiber cloth.

It's been two weeks now with no change in the new appearance.
The only area where there is a slight inconsistency is the outer sill where a few drips of water got to after applying.
ProsEasy application.
ConsNone so far. Keep water away!

Trim Restorer
I added 5% I. Alcohol to water bottle and wiped black trim areas and then dried and applied a couple coats. It looks no better than one other brand I tried at 1/2 the price. The other product line is hard to top. It is only an average product. I'd only buy it again if they improve it and I get a new car and use only their products and that won't happen for a while.
ProsOk to use.
ConsToo expensive. No better than my other current brand.

Pricey, but very durable
I've had this on my trim for over 2 years now and it is still holding up very well. Water continues to bead up like day one.

Cleaning the trim is essential prior to application. Once clean, C4 brings faded trim back to new, with just a bit of gloss.

Only downside is that the product does harden in the bottle once it is about 1/2 gone. if you have a 1/4 of a bottle left, just use it up right then, or it will harden before you have a chance to use it again.
Prosdurability is great
Consproduct will harden in bottle

Pricey, But Worth It!
I first used this product on my 911 turbo several months ago, and admittedly had low expectations. I'm an avid detailer with several cars, and have tried seemingly everything on the market. C4 trim restorer went on very easily, and showed immediate results. It needed a short time to dry, and a wipe with a soft cloth to remove any excess, but the results were outstanding. Weathered dark/black trim looked as new, and felt smooth and dry as opposed to the "greasy" feel left my many trim coat products. I have driven the car in the rain since then, and the finish hasn't changed noticeably. While I can't speak to GTechniq's two year claim, it does appear that it will last much longer than anything else I have used. I've already bought more for my other cars!
ProsEase of application, dry finish, durability.
ConsSmall bottle is used up very quickly!
