ULTIMA ELASTROFOAM PAINT CLEANING SYSTEM FAQ
Does Elastrofoam Replace Polishing?
No, the Elastrofoam Paint Cleaning System is not a substitute for polishing,
but it can be used instead of polish to remove bonded contamination from paint.
Unlike heavy polishes, the Ultima Elastrofoam Paint Cleaning System does not
thin the clear coat finish. As a result, your car's paint finish will last
years longer.
Is the Ultima Elastrofoam Paint Cleaning System the same as detailing
clay?
Not quite. It serves the same purpose as detailing clay, and it's used like a
detailing clay, but it has none of the shortcomings of detailing clay.
Many people have reported back to us that they feel the Elastrofoam Paint
Cleaning System is also easier to use than detailing clay.
How often should I use Ultima Elastrofoam Paint Cleaning System?
We recommend a deep cleaning with the Elastrofoam Paint Cleaning System at
least twice a year before you polish. You can use the Elastrofoam sponge
as often as you like to remove bonded contamination.
Will the Ultima Elastrofoam Paint Cleaning System scratch my paint?
No, but grit or heavy dirt on the sponge can! You must take car to
keep the Elastrofoam sponge clean and use plenty of lubricant.
I see marks on my paint after using the Ultima Elastrofoam Paint Cleaning
System, what is it?
When used in the sunshine or on a warm day, the rubberized coating on the
sponge may transfer to your paint. Try to avoid using the sponge in hot
day-time temperatures. The smudging is easy to remove by polishing with
Ultima Paint Prep Plus.
Will Ultima Elastrofoam Paint Cleaning System remove my coating of Ultima
Paint Guard Plus paint sealant?
No! The lubrication will protect your sealant finish.
How many uses will I get from a single sponge?
This largely depends on how clean or rough your vehicle's paint finish is.
Cars in new or like-new condition can be treated 20 to 25 times with a single
Elastrofoam sponge. A vehicle with a lot of heavy contamination will
extract a lot of life out of the sponge. The best way to extend the life
of your Elastrofoam sponge is to keep it clean.
ULTIMA ELASTROFOAM PAINT CLEANING SYSTEM APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Preparation: Prior to use you must thoroughly wash your vehicle.
Failure to thoroughly wash and rinse your vehicle may lead to paint scratches
from grit and other forms of hard contamination. You will achieve the best
results with the Ultima Elastrofoam Paint Cleaning System if your vehicle is
clean and dry.
Application: Feel your paint to find areas of heavy bonded
contamination and roughness. Work on a small area (2' by 2') at a time.
Spray face of the rubber face of the Elastrofoam sponge and the area to be
cleaned with Ultima Paint Cleaning Gel. Proper lubrication is essential.
Never use dry. Lightly rub the Elastrofoam sponge over the area to be
cleaned. Heavy rubbing (pressure) is not required. After several
passes over the area, dry with a clean, soft microfiber towel. Inspect by
feeling for remaining contamination. The surface should feel perfectly
smooth, like glass. Repeat if necessary.
