Iron X is the perfect product to remove stubborn brake dust! After a few minutes of dwell time you will see the chemical reaction of Iron X breaking down and removing unwanted ferrous contamination.

Airborne chemical compounds and ferrous (iron-containing) particles penetrate auto paint and create corrosive compounds that eat into the paint's sublayers. Detailing clay removes the particles but it doesn't remove their effects - corrosion may already be creeping under the paint's surface.

The only way to truly remove these damaging particles is with a dedicated iron remover like Iron X. Iron X opens up the paint's pores to flush out iron particles and to neutralize the caustic compounds that have developed as a result of the particle. In one step, you can eliminate the cause and its effects.

Iron X is completely safe and and effective on both automotive paint and safely cleans clear coats. Iron X is also highly recommended for all clear coated alloy wheels. Brake dust and road grime become baked onto wheels over time. Brake dust contains high levels of iron and can quickly pit clear coated wheels.  When you use a product like Iron X, you’re able to stop the corrosion in its tracks.

Manufacture’s Note: Iron X should not be used on bare metal parts, brake calipers, wheel balancing weights, or SMART paint repairs. Mask off these areas. Avoid letting Iron X dry on any surface.

Iron X is easy to use and you can see it working! Iron X is a clear solution in the bottle but it turns purple when it comes into contact with sintered iron particles. Iron X turns the iron into a water soluble complex for easy removal. After five minutes of dwell time, wipe down the surface and rinse thoroughly. After using Iron X, you can polish and clay your vehicle as you normally would. After your car is prepped properly, it has a perfect surface to be coated with CQuartz Paint Coating.

Proper vehicle care with Iron X means taking care of your investment above and below the paint's surface. Iron X Iron Remover removes iron particles and their effects to keep the paint clean and healthy.

  1. Wash the car or wheels surfaces, make sure surface is in cool temp.
  2. Shake well, spray on the surface. Rub it in with damp sponge thoroughly.
  3. Wait 5 min. while contaminants change its color to purple/red. Wipe off with damp soft sponge. Don’t let the IronX dry completely on surface!
  4. Rinse well or power wash the whole surface. The vehicle is ready to clay now.

500 ml.

A must have for any paint decontamination
Works great to remove iron particulates from the paint before doing a clay bar. Smells absolutely awful, but that's not the point. It does a great job.

Works Excellent
Worked great to get stubborn brake dust off my wheels. not be fooled by the alleged, "Cherry scent"! It smells like primarily of low tide with notes of hot garbage and a chemical plant. I'm not sure I have smelled anything quite so objectionable.

But who cares what it smells like!
ProsRemoves brake dust Works fast Removes dust fast
ConsSmells like low tide with notes of hot garbage and a chemical plant.

Does its job well
I own a newish white car, and I began noticing specks of rust on the body surface. After ordering this product, I applied it as directed. I immediately noticed the telltale purple streaks that everyone had mentioned in reviews and on YouTube. After rinsing, there were fewer rust spots. And after a few applications, I could no longer see the spots of rust. My car looks better than ever, and I'm happy with this product.

A must for coatings!
I got the Iron X as a part of cquartz coating kit, After applying it on the paint It immediately started to react with the iron embedded into the paint and removed them in seconds, it is a must if you are coating a vehicle or just want to clean your paint, I was impressed with the results on my finish as I clayed the surface first and then used Iron X, it was smooth as glass and contaminant free and ready for polishing and coating, the smell is strong and could be better, but it's one of the best on the market right now, It is also great on wheels and brake dust.
ProsEffective Easy to use
ConsSmell could be better

Works like a charm!
My son brought his car in from Chicago and the finish felt like sand paper. He lives right next the the elevated transit tracks (the L) and the car was covered with rail deposits.

Sprayed on Iron-X and is dissolved most of the deposits. Followed that up with a clay bar treatment for any spits left behind and any other debri.

Washed and waxed - problem was solved .

Will keep up with a treatment every couple months. He material build up on his car was from 2 years - we will not let it get that bad again

Great product. Prompt shipping from Autopia

Smell doesn't matter
Sure it smells pretty bad, but it works great. It is worth suffering the 5 minutes to apply for the results. I like to use a foam applicator pad and really spread it around. It covers more area and uses less product since it is a little expensive.
ProsWorks Great Worth the Price
ConsSmells, but is worth it

One of my favorite products
I haven't tried any other Iron Removers (not counting Sonax Full Effect since that is for wheels) but I really love Iron-X and can't imagine it getting any better. The paint feels great after decon and clay stays much cleaner afterwards so I know it is really working. It is a little difficult to see it working on darker cars but if you wait a minute or two you will see the dissolved iron particles dripping on the ground. Another plus is Iron-X can be used on wheels and does a great job if you do run out of a wheel cleaner. I don't mind the smell of the cherry or the lemon scent but my wife really does hate when I use it.

Must have product!
Iron X is a must have product for any hobbyist or detailer. Iron X is most beneficial to light colored vehicles where rail dust and iron particles are easily visible and you can literally watch Iron X destroy them as it turns it's lovely shade of blood purple. This is not to say that every vehicle will not benefit from the occasional dose of Iron X, because claying will not take care of the below surface iron particles. Yes as everyone states it smells of an extremely lovely scent, it is a needed sacrifice as obviously it is one of the active ingredients that contains the lovely odor. Iron X will also work wonders on neglected wheels as a wheel cleaner to kill off brake dust and particles from your pads.
ProsExtremely effective Easy to use Multi purpose
ConsThe needed stank!

Great product. Bad smell
Only downside is the smell. Smells like a 1980s perm. Other than that, great product for dissolving iron. You can see it working. Makes it easy to clean wheels.

White F150
I use Iron X on my white F150 every spring to remove the ravages of Michigan winters.
It does an outstanding job off lifting the nasty orange spots left behind by brake dust and road salt.
Spray it on, and it does all the work.
I would definitely recommend this product!
ProsEasy to use. Does a remarkable job!

Works well but the smell...
I purchased IronX to deal with a rail dust issue with a customer's car. Others have had great success and I was hoping for the same. It was actually really easy to use, spray, let dwell, wipe in with a damp pad, then rinse thoroughly. Turns purple as it works so you know for sure its found some iron it needs to dissolve. Nice to have a visual indicator like that. Only problem is the product smells awful. Like a cross between a perm and sewage. But if used in a well ventilated area, its not too hard to handle. And as well as the product works, small price to pay.
ProsWorks fast, good visual indicator when iron is present.
ConsIt smells horrible.

Iron X
Iron X is magic in a bottle. Each year I have to clay bar my vehicles to get rid of the rust spots. As you may know this is time consuming and hard work. I always thought there must be an easier way and then I found Iron X. Thanks to this spray on hose off process I will not have to clay bar as I did before. Do yourself a favor and buy a large bottle.
ProsIt works!!!!

I live in Michigan near a rail yard, a scrap yard and a lot of industry. I keep my truck garaged but those darn rust spots on the paint are a constant problem. Especially after winter with all the road salt our state puts down.
I spend hours every spring with a clay bar and a lot of elbow grease removing these spot and getting my truck back in shape.
I read about this stuff in one of the forums and thought I'd give it a try. All I can say it WOW! A little bit of this stuff and the spots turn purple and disappear. No more rubbing and scrubbing for me! This product has saved me hours of work! I'll be buying this again. Very impressed.
ProsFast works as advertised Easy to apply, easy to remove
ConsDoesn't smell very good.

Peew...Iron X is working.
First, Warning - Don't open in closed space, use outside. Second, boy oh boy this stuff truly works. If you think your car or truck is completely polish and clean, but haven't used Iron X, its not. Give a few sprays and trying not to breath in the smell to much and just watch what was imbedded in your paint. This is a most have product!
ProsOutstanding decontamination Price
ConsSmell...just gross. Must use outdoors.

The daddy of decontamination
This is one of those products that completely changed detailing for me.
Before polishing, it was claying and depending on how much was in the paint, it could take several hours and you might have to use a aggressive clay that would mary the paint.

Enter Iron X.

This product does an amazing job of removing most iron particles in the paint, wheels and undercarriage. This product just does not remove the top layer of iron particulates like a clay, but goes down into the clear to remove it and help prevent corrosion.

I have tried other types of iron removing products on the market, and nothing compares to the ability of IronX.

Claying after using Iron X is a nice easy task that goes by much faster and allows use of a fine clay bar without issue.
A must have product and is used in every detail I do.
ProsAmazing decontamination properties Helps fight corrosion Makes claying easier

Smells to high heaven but works like a charm
Very innovative product that saves time and helps make your clay last longer as well (so I guess it saves you money too). Must have for a white car in my opinion. Clay shaves off the top of the iron but Iron X dissolves the iron that clay leaves behind. Pic 1 shows IX working its magic on the trunk lid after washing. Pic 2 shows IX on the other half of the lid which has been clayed prior to spraying IX.
ProsEasy to use and relatively safe
ConsSmells- though I'm used to it now...

Makes Quick Work of a Tedious Job
Quickly and easily removes rust colored specs common in silver and white paint. Before using Iron X, I had to use cleaners and clay -- sometimes without success. Iron X changes color to purple as it reacts with iron and then allows you to wipe it away. Pretty amazing stuff!
ProsPrepares surface nicely for polish and wax (clay also if desired) and does it fast.
ConsNothing except I wish I knew about Iron X sooner.
