The Wax Shop Product System

Step 1: Wash

Use a pressure washer to remove large amounts of dirt and debris from your painted surfaces. Fill a bucket with a grit guard and water to use as a rinsing station for your wash mitt. Add 2-3 oz of Cherry Snow Foam into your foam cannon with 16 oz of warm water and shake. Using warm water will help create thick, shaving cream like foam. This thick foam encapsulates the dirt and debris and allows you to safely wash your vehicle without producing any additional swirl marks.

Begin washing your vehicle from top to bottom, rinsing your wash mitt after every panel. Rinsing your wash mitt will remove any dirt and debris from your wash mitt before moving on to the next panel. Once the vehicle is completely washed thoroughly rinse the soap using your pressure washer.

Step 2: Paint Contamination Removal

Use Slick & Slide Clay lubricant and The Wax Shop clay bar to remove embedded paint contamination from your clear coat. Work in sections. Apply 2-3 sprays of Slick & Slide Clay lubricant and work the clay bar in a back and forth motion. Youíll notice that the Slick & Slide Clay lubricant is highly concentrated and a little goes a long way. Wipe each area dry with a clean microfiber towel before moving on to the next section. Once this process is complete you can use a plastic bag and feel any additional contaminants that may need to be removed before moving on to the compounding and polishing steps.

Step 3: Overhaul 1000

Overhaul 1000 is a heavy cut compound that can remove up to 1000 grit sanding marks in your painted surfaces. For this step you will need a dual-action polisher or rotary polisher with a heavy cut foam or wool pad. We recommend using the Flex XC 3401 dual-action polisher. Use masking tape to cover up any handles, moldings, emblems, and trim. Apply 4 dime size drops to the pad and begin to spread the compound at a low speed. Once evenly spread, increase the speed on your polisher and work the compound moving approximately 1 inch per second over your section. After 3-4 cross-hatch section passes you can then remove the excess compound with your favorite microfiber towel and move on to the next section.

You will notice that our compounds have significantly longer working times than our competitors. They also produce zero dust and are easily removed with a microfiber towel. Overhaulís blend of high-quality heavy cut abrasives and lubrication technologies efficiently corrects up to 1000 grit paint imperfections. Its body shop-safe formula leaves no powdery residue and is effortless to remove.

Step 4: Rebuild 2000

Rebuild 2000 is a medium cut compound that can remove up to 2000 grit sanding marks in your painted surfaces. For this step you will need a dual-action polisher with a medium polishing foam or microfiber pad.

Rebuildís proprietary Hybrid Abrasive Technology removes up to 2000 grit paint imperfections with unmet ease, leaving a high gloss shine that is ready for wax or sealant.

Step 5: Tune Up 3000

Tune-Up 3000 is a fine polishing compound that can remove up to 3000 grit sanding marks in your painted surfaces. Step 6: Deep Reflections Liquid Carnauba Wax

Deep Reflections Liquid Carnauba Wax is a high-quality blend of Brazilian carnauba wax with synthetic sealant technology. It provides the rich warmth and gloss of a carnauba wax with the extended protection of a sealant.

For this step you may apply this product by hand or with a dual-action polisher and finishing foam or microfiber pad. We recommend the FLEX XFE15 150 Cordless Orbital Polisher.
