My GO-TO
The MKII is a big improvement over the legacy. Its my go to polisher for 95% of jobs. Great power, super smooth. However, they just cant seem to figure out how to engineer the dust skirt not to touch the backing plate, which is why i deducted a star. However, sand down the skirt properly or washer mod, and its unbeatable. You literally would have to try to stop it to get it to stall.

Better than the Legacy
I have been using the legacy mark I LHR 15 for about 3 years now. I was enticed to switch to the new Mark II by the promise of increased power and resistance to stalling. While the new motor is definitely more powerful than the original, it's not stall proof by any means. It has a tendancy to stall on some panels that are very curved. If you want a no-stall machine you are better off getting a certain direct drive DA. On intricate panels with curves I usually just use my Rupes Mini or Rupes TA50.

Pros-More powerful than the legacy LHR15 -Increased stall resistance on curved panels -Smooth
Cons-Not stall proof -Cost

Improvement to the Original Mark I
I've own a bunch of polishers including the Griots Boss 15/21 and Rupes Mark I 15/21 and I certainly feel the Mark II stalls a lot less than the Mark I Rupes model. My personal opinion is that the build quality in further improved and feels like an even sturdier machine.

If I could only own one long-throw polisher, this would be it!

So smooth and less stalling. Makes polishing curved panels are breeze!

Pros No more stalling around curved panels. Smooth and nearly vibration free - easier on the hands for long polishing sessions Great Build Quality
ConsNone - worth every penny!

Great Machine
I purchased this as an upgrade to the Meguiar's MT300. This is a great machine. It has good power. The ergonomics are great. The tool has no vibration with Rupes pads. It does work well with the Meguiar's foam disks. I noticed no stalling on curves.
ProsGood power, No stalling on curves, Little to no vibration with the Rupes pads, Comfortable
ConsNone
