When cut counts!

The D-A COARSE Cutting Foam Pad is the first, and most aggressive foam pad of the RUPES polishing system. Redesigned to capture the best attributes of the previous Blue Coarse and Green Medium cutting pads, the D-A COARSE Cutting Foam Pad yields powerful corrective capabilities and a smooth finish. The D-A COARSE Cutting Foam Pad features a lower profile than previous version for increased pad spin on contact. The optimized size also provides increased cooling capabilities for enhanced durability and pad life. The D-A COARSE Cutting Foam Pad performs best when paired with RUPES D-A COARSE High-Performance Cutting Compound.

Please note, the backing material is 130mm (5 inch) and the face is 150mm (6 inch). This pad is to be used with a RUPES LHR15, or a machine with a 130mm (5 inch) backing plate

Suprisingly good

At first touch this pad feels very coarse and makes one wonder of it will scour the surface. But I see now why many detailers use this pad. It works great with Rupes Zephir Gloss Coarse Gel Compound and the Rupes LHR15 Mark II. It left the finish wax ready.

Simply the best foam cutting pad

This is the best all around foam pad I have ever used. As another reviewer stated, the feel of this pad is very rough and I was skeptical about using it. But after a few passes with my LHR15 I began to see why some of the best detailers in the world use this pad. The correction power of this pad is exceptional when used with Zephir Gloss and, on medium to hard clear coats, produces a finish that doesn't require any follow up with a lighter polish.

Because of the open cell design you are going to want to be careful of slinging product everywhere. I recommend priming the pad lightly and getting a good, even spread of the product on speed setting 1 before going up to 5 or 6.

This pad is also very easy to clean and maintain. Because of the open cell nature, compound and paint residue rinse off very easy.
  • -Good correcting power
  • -Amazing finishing
  • -Very easy to clean
  • -A bit pricey in comparison to other pads (but well worth it).

When you first touch a blue coarse pad, there are many things that come to mind....
"Man, this thing is rough!"
"It feels like sand paper."
"There is no way this won't mar the finish."
But I ensure you, once you use this pad and see the results from it you will believe it is one of the best pads. It can remove heavy defects yet finish down VERY well. Use it for heavy defects or medium polishing, this pad is a work horse.
  • Everything!
  • Can start to shred if brushed to aggressively
