Eats everything for lunch
September 25, 2017
This stuff eats defects for lunch even by hand and finishes down really well that being said. Can't get those annoying scratches out from behind door handles. I got them out in 60 seconds by hand on some soft Honda paint and it finished out really well.
It has a bit of a learning curve. It can have too short of a work time but you can fix that by not spreading the compound out. Since you need so little. Just put the pad to paint crank it to 4 on the old DA and use the first half of your first pass to spread and cut. This stuff wants to be worked slow. If you push it too fast it will flash half way through you first pass. If you have a problem a very, very light spray of distilled H20 to the pad wakes it right back up.
Remember this stuff is a SMAT compound it will stop cutting when you do or gets pushed to dusting. Take it nice and slow. You will make your time back up when you see it eating through severe defects in one pass.
ProsOn par with FG400 as far as speed and finish. Makes quick work of severe defects and finishes out really well Does not have to be worked out to diminish like FG400 It stops when you stop or if you pushed it too hard Let it do the work. Just put the pad on the paint keep your pad level is all you have to do. When done right zero dusting and finishes out really well
ConsA bit of a learning curve FG400 is more user friendly no matter what you do to it. You can do everything wrong and it still looks good M101 if you take your time you can crank out some severe defects and it finishes out really well if you know how to work SMAT compounds. It's all about timing the flash and being patient. Not the best in hotter climates. I like having both FG400 and M101

Pretty good stuff...

Really good compound, although pricy. For the price, there is some newer stuff out that is probably a bit better. That said, this stuff will do about anything you would need it to. Takes a bit of getting used to. Resist the urge to use too much product. This will appear "dry" on the pad, but it actually isn't.
Prosoffers plenty of cut for most needs
Consdoesn't cut as well as Menzerna

awsome compound. a bit too pricy though compared to m105. I don't know if this is worth almost 2x the price of M101 though.

This is a great compound. Corrects and finishes nicely. This is what M105 should have been.

As good as Menzerna FG500 for ceramic clearcoats, but has the edge in finishing down very well and longer working time.
