Meguiars Mirror Glaze 40 Vinyl and Rubber Cleaner - Conditioner

Item Description:

Meguiars Mirror Glaze #40 Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner / Conditioner

The pros choice for clean and protected vinyl and rubber surfaces!

1901. What a year! Daimler builds the first Mercedes, the first Nobel Prize is awarded, Walt Disney is born, and Frank Meguiar Jr., founding father of Meguiar’s, makes his first surface-enhancement product. Of course, it snowballed from there. A year of lasting traditions….

Meguiar’s #40 Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner is a three-ply product. Cleans. Revives color. Provides UV Protection. One simple step to total rubber and vinyl care? #40 couldn’t be easier, more thorough, or more competent! A complex combination of cleaners and nutrients designed to get dirt and impurities safely out of the way, while administering a moisturizing, protective coat that lasts for weeks. You can use it on interior and exterior surfaces with confidence. You’ll never see a yellow film or brownish haze on your vinyl or rubber surfaces when you stick with Meguiar’s #40. It works to restore the original color back to the material... and the finish is nothing short of stunning. No grease here! Just a wonderfully rich, high-class luster.

I’d suggest using an applicator pad to apply Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Protectant to interior and exterior surfaces. Mist the product onto your applicator. Take care to wipe it neatly onto your dash, door panels, vinyl tops, interiors, tires, rubber trim and even under the hood. On contact, #40 goes to work, lifting away dirt and dust, revving up the color, and protecting against fading, cracking and drying from UV over-exposure.

UV absorbers in the formula extend the life of your vinyl and rubber by taking on the brunt of the sun’s ferocity. It penetrates the surface, providing essential conditioners to keep things hydrated and looking good. Many similar, less sophisticated protectants give a cold, synthetic shine—even to the point of a glare. Not #40. This product leaves a nice satiny glow that enhances any vehicle. If you prefer a matte finish, allow Vinyl & Rubber Protectant to penetrate then wipe down with a clean towel. Clean, protected surfaces without the shine!

One bottle, one low price, one step to complete vinyl and rubber care!

16 oz.

I would say 3,5 stars. works well on newer rubber, vinyl, and plastic.
  • Works well on newer materials
  • Doesn't bring back anything. Might be over-expectations.

Excellent to use on rubber & vinyl when maintaining older vehicles. You can see it absorb into the rubber making it more pliable. I use it according to instructions on the vinyl trim around my 1988 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, then go back over it with another product to bring out the gloss I want. Also use it on the weather strips on my wife's 1982 VW Rabbit convertible, making them softer as I go. Definitely a fine product.
  • Rejuvenates rubber & vinyl.
  • You might have to use another product over it to get the gloss level you desire.

I purchased this to use on an older model car I had for many years. I found it useful in keeping the old door seals supple and looking new. That car is long gone and I use this product on all of my new cars, including other rubber products around the house, thanks Meguiar's!

#40 vinyl & Rubber Cleaner Conditioner
July 25, 2013
Originally I stumbled onto this product because I bought a bottle of Mercedes Benz Interior Conditioner for my 1999 Pontiac Grand Am. The bottle said it was packaged by Meguiars for Mercedes. I later compared this to Meguiars # 40 and it is the same product. I still have the original shorty Mercedes bottle and just refill it with #40 as the bottle fits in my detailing box so nicely.

This product leaves a nice low satin finish, doesn't attract dust and buffs nicely with a micro fibre cloth. If you take 5 minutes with a car Swiffer duster and dust your car every 4 or 5 days this conditoner lasts for months.

I have even conditioned the vinyl on the vinyl/cloth combination seats in my 2012 Buick Verano and it buffs off clean and settles in nicley.

Over the years I have had many people comment that my car smells like it has leather seats.
I haven't used another Vinyl rubber conditioner since 1999.

I am now using #40 on the exterior black vinyl/rubber window/ roof rails, and lower black front and rear bumper trims on my Verano. I will see how it holds up to a car wash. It only takes a couple of minutes to do these areas anyway so no big deal if I have to apply it after each wash for the UV protection.

I would recommend this product to anyone.

  • Low gloss satin finish.
  • Does not create glare in the windsheild if applied and buffed properly.
  • UV protection.
  • Leather like smell.
  • Rejuvinates colour.
  • It hasn't turned any of my cars into a Mercedes even though I still use the original bottle and keep refilling it with #40 Meguiars.
  • (See my story above.)

I really like this produce it did a great job for me. It use used on my Motorhome to clean and condition all my slide out seals, door gaskets and windows also. I does not have a high shine which is good. Also did the tires on my car, love it.
  • Doesn't have a high shine and that is what I have been looking for. Easy to put on and wipe off when needed.
