Ultima Tire, Trim & Wheel Wash & Maintain Kit Instructions

Sonüs Rim Bright is a pH balanced cleaner formulated to safely and gently clean all light alloy wheels including clear coated, factory painted, chrome, polished and anodized finishes. Even stubborn deposits such as heavy brake dust, oil, grease and road dirt are gently and thoroughly removed to restore the wheel's original appearance.

Sonüs Rim Bright is not a spray on/hose off cleaner. All pH-balanced wheel cleaners require some agitation with a brush to break the bond between the brake dust and the wheel finish. Common spray-on, hose-off cleaners are acid-based solutions that will rapidly degrade or damage the finish on high-performance wheels. Sonüs Rim Bright is an effective pH-balanced cleaner specifically designed to tackle the heavy brake dusting generated by most high-performance cars.

Sonus Rim Bright Application Instructions

  • Clean one wheel at a time. Spray the wheel with Sonüs Rim Bright. Allow the cleaner to soak in for 30 seconds (minimum) to 3 minutes (maximum).
  • Mix a bucket of water with your favorite car shampoo, using double the recommended strength.
  • Thoroughly rinse the tire and wheel with water using a hose and spray nozzle. If it is exposed, rinse the brake caliper to flush away loose brake dust. Finally, rinse up into the wheel well to wash away environmental contaminants and other debris.
  • Use the Carrand Deluxe Wheel & Brake Dust Remover Brush to get into tight places and the Carrand Deluxe Wheel and Bumper Brush with the soapy water to agitate the tire and wheel surface. Use the wheel brush and soapy water to scrub the accessible areas of the wheel wells, too. This small detail keeps the vehicle looking fresh and new. Use plenty of soapy water because the soap acts as a lubricant to gently lift dirt and grit away from the wheels. Make sure the tires are scrubbed. Many people put layer upon layer of dressings on their tires, but never clean them. The result is a brown or yellow discoloration.
  • Thoroughly rinse the tire, wheel and wheel well. Use plenty of water. This ensure that all traces of the wheel cleaner are gone.

IMPORTANT: Use only on wheels that are cool to the touch. Clean one wheel at a time. Always thoroughly rinse wheels after cleaning. Do not allow cleaner to dry.

Ultima Tire & Trim Guard Plus Application Instructions

Use Sparingly: Ultima Tire & Trim Guard Plus must be used very sparingly. About 1/4 ounce of product is all that is needed to treat four tires and wheels. A full detail of all trim, tires, wheels and the engine compartment will require less than two ounces of product.

Preparation: For best results, be sure that tires and trim are clean and completely dry prior to using Ultima Tire & Trim Guard Plus. After cleaning, towel dry thoroughly to avoid spotting.

Application: Ultima Tire & Trim Guard Plus may be applied in the sun, but for best results we recommend application in a shaded area. For all plastic and rubber trim, mist the soft side of the Ultima Dual-Foam Applicator with Ultima Tire & Trim Guard Plus and wipe it on the surface to be treated. For all hard surfaces, including wheels, chrome trim, stainless steel trim, and exhaust tips, use the firm side of the applicator. Wipe the product in well. Do not spray directly the tire and trim. This is wasteful and will not provide better results. If you get a little Ultima Tire and Trim Guard Plus on your glass or paint, simply buff it off with a clean, dry microfiber towel.

Proper Application Note: Proper application leaves a rich-looking, dark film. As the film dries, it will take on the natural sheen of the surface. If too much product is applied, the drying time may increase significantly. For higher profile or neglected tires, additional applications may be needed. Be sure to allow product to dry to the touch prior to applying additional coats. Product shine increases with additional applications.

Do Not Buff Off or Wipe!: After application, you can sit back and watch as Ultima Tire & Trim Guard Plus does its job. When properly applied, the vehicle's trim will look as it did when new. Although you may be tempted to wipe or buff your trim, it is not necessary. If you simply can't keep your hands off the amazing Ultima finish, we recommend that you wait at least 30 minutes before wiping. The longer you wait the better. After 20 minutes, you can drive your vehicle. Driving (air friction) will accelerate the cure time.

Applicator Care: Do not use a different type of applicator with Ultima Tire & Trim Guard Plus. The large dual-foam applicator provided ensures an even, streak-free coating on all surfaces. Your Ultima Foam Applicator will turn black when used on tires and other rubber trim. This does not harm the applicator. After use, wash the applicator by hand with Dawn dishwashing liquid and allow to air dry completely.

After Care: After treatment with Ultima Tire & Trim Guard Plus, the vehicle's trim will be nearly carefree for three full months. Tires may require treatment monthly to maintain a crisp, freshly detailed appearance; however a single application will maintain protection for three full months. To maintain your trim, all you need to do is wash and dry your vehicle regularly. Insects, tar, road grime, brake dust, road salt, bird dropping and other contaminants are easily washed off with Ultima Paint Guard Wash. Even the tires, wheels and engine compartment will easily clean up with Ultima Paint Guard Wash and a wash mitt. Harsh tire and wheel cleaners are no longer necessary!

Frequency of Use: Ultima Tire & Trim Guard Plus is the most durable treatment available for trim. While we have tested for visible protection for up to a full year, proper trim care dictates that 4 treatments a year offers the very best protection possible.

More Tire Shine: If your goal is deep, dark, wet-looking tires, Ultima Tire & Trim Guard Plus will deliver. Ultima Tire & Trim Guard Plus can be layered to produce a jaw-dropping, show car tire shine that will turn heads and not attract dust or sling off onto the side of your car. In most cases, on a perfectly clean and dry tire, 2-3 coats of Ultima Tire & Trim Guard Plus produces stunning results. Be sure to allow product to dry to the touch prior to applying additional coats. To keep this high gloss shine, avoid using other tire and wheel cleaners (wash with Ultima Paint Guard Wash) and re-treat every two to three weeks.
