Use it after wet sanding fresh paint to remove sanding scratches and refine the finish to smaller swirl marks. 3M Perfect-It 3000 Compound excels at removing deeper scratches, water etchings, and serious paint defects on cured paint. 3M Perfect-It 3000 Extra Cut Rubbing Compound has a little more bite than 3M Perfect-It Rubbing Compound to polish cured paints, whereas 3M Perfect-It 3000 Rubbing Compound is great for fresh paint.

3M Perfect-It 3000 Rubbing Compound will is recommended for use with a rotary polisher only. It will leave behind a fine swirl finish that can quickly be polished using 3M Perfect-It 3000 Swirl Mark Remover Machine Polish or your favorite intermediate polish.
